Preparing for Winter collection

I love knitting, knitting is a magic technique. From simple line to a 2D or even 3D object, by knitting we can make any form.
Knitting works will be the theme of winter collection from Brut Cake, we mainly focus on knitting puppet. This collection is not only for kid, it’s actually made for all different age level. Beyond that, we also hope those works can make people appreciating traditional knitting craft.

This work was just been finished last week, and we love it very much as it perfectly represents the idea behind Brut Cake.
With it’s round and full shape, when you hold it, it fills up your hands. The surface is rough, and you can see the clay is full of tiny stones. The picture is of two smiling faces, one embrace and the rest of the pot decorated by rough line.
Without words, is it possible for an art work to successfully deliver the meaning behind it?!
We believe this one can make it, it’s totally “Brut Cake-Made”.
Preparing for September event

After discussions with Noriko Daishima, a Japanese designer who established SHOWROOM-SHANGHAI with me, we have decided to present a new ceramic collection in mid September, and I am keeping busy with this project recently.
To me, clay is a living thing, an organism that can be shaped to take any form, and exist in our daily life. Since my early days creating pottery, I have continuously drawn faces or eyes on my work, knowing that eyes bring an object to life. Drawing faces on a pot is not just for decoration, it’s a process by which I can extract the inner life from the clay. Working in this manner makes me happy, and I never tire of it.
In September, I am going to present a collection of plant pots, to instill even more life into my work. I made these two samples and feel they look cute, more of them are coming soon!

The founder Lin Hsintien always said she had never tried to become sophisticated, lives like a simple child is the best way very everyday!”.
She likes products with simple design, behind those products everybody can feel the origin.
With the idea, she sets up Hikidult.com as a base, through internet, event, exhibition to introduce more and more design ideas from either Taiwan or worldwide.
