Brut Cake strives to combine raw essentials with a touch of sweetness in its designs to bring simple pleasures to our daily lives.

Founded by Taiwanese designer Nicole Teng - now based in Australia - the brand combines the wisdom of traditional craftsmanship with a modern touch. While living in Shanghai, she was inspired by the rustic charm and fine quality of artisanal crafts. She started designing everyday products using these techniques, and adding her own playful design sensibilities.

'Brut' refers to the raw, original nature of traditional craft objects, while 'Cake' reminds us of life's happy little moments. Together, they encapsulate the brands goal - putting us back in touch with the essential, and doing so with a smile.
